Theta Omega responds to COVID-19 pandemic with virtual Zoom technology

Updated: Apr 8, 2020

Based on the COVID-19 pandemic which has gripped the nation, the 5th District and International Headquarters gave the directive that all chapters who choose to “meet” between now and June 1, 2020 should only do so by teleconference or video conference. As a result The Theta Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi held it's first Executive Meeting on Monday, March 16, 2020 and its initial Theta Omega Chapter meeting via Zoom on Monday, March 23, 2020. Under the guidance of Basileus Daniel “D.Mawl” Muldrow this inaugural meeting was a great success and well attended.

The Basileus stated “With the business of our Fraternity having to continue in spite of COVID-19, we had to find an alternative option to meet. The ZOOM technology provided us a platform to virtually conduct our business as usual and it went over flawlessly. The morale of the brotherhood was boosted immediately once we all engaged on the video conference.”

All other fraternally-related gatherings of more than 10 people, scheduled to occur before June 1, 2020 are to be postponed or cancelled including the 5th District Meeting which was scheduled to begin on March 27, 2020.
