Theta Omega Businessman Spearheads Food and Toy Drive



Theta Omega Chapter’s own Brother Marcus Withers, business owner of The Palm Room, and members of Theta Omega Chapter, Omega Psi Phi fraternity Inc hosted a food and toy drive on December 19, 2020 from 12pm-3pm.


Bro Marcus Withers stated he wanted to give back to the Russell Neighborhood because of the great community support The Palm Room received during the COVID-19 pandemic. Bro Withers reopened the historic night club once known as Joe’s Palm Room 3 months ago.



Nearly 2,000 families in need, participated in the Holiday giveaway of more than 500 turkeys and pork loins. The giveaway also included Kroger gift cards worth a combined one thousand dollars as well as one thousand dollars worth of toys for children.


Dare to Care also contributed to the success of this event, by distributing food boxes that contained fruits and vegetables. Additional groups who supported this momentous event included Louisvile Metro Police Department, Cumberland National Bank, Council Women Barbara Sexton Smith, Quinn Chapel Church, Harrods Creek Baptist Church, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc and other nonprofit groups. Local ABC affiliate WHAS was on hand covering the event.
