On March 13, 2020, Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old African American Emergency Medical Technician, was shot eight times by Louisville Metro Police Department officers who entered her apartment in Louisville, Kentucky, United States while serving a "no-knock warrant.”
In a wrongful death lawsuit, Taylor's mother says the officers didn't knock at all and should have called off their search because the suspect they sought had already been arrested.
On Tuesday May 26, 2020 the brothers of the Theta Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Inc. stood alongside the family of Breonna Taylor and the concerned citizens of Louisville KY at the Hall of Justice demanding swift change, fairness, and justice for the family.
